15 ideas why a podcast could accelerate your career
This episode shares 15 ways a podcast can help accelerate your career. It is based on the 100+ episodes I have done in less than 2 years. Podcasting has helped me personally and professionally in so many ways. I wanted to share what I have learned and experienced for you and your journey.
My journey
This episode also shares some more behind the scenes of my journey. I share the highs and lows that experienced. My Portfolio Career since the Summer of 2018 has been…. well, a Portfolio Career. A lot of projects. Meaningful work. Uncertainty about “medium-term” work. The most meaningful work I have ever experienced. Opportunities I could not have imagined when I started my podcast. Hope learning more about the journey helps you.
The 15 ideas:
you could work or partner with the person you talk with on your show.
One Email Away. You are always One Email Away from progress. Sending invitations out increases your chances.
Build real relationships.
A body of work. Something in your own name. Something you share with others.
Learn additional digital skills.
A learning feedback loop from idea, interview, editing, and then publishing. Deepens your knowledge on the topic or ideas.
Creative Control of an entire project.
A generous mindset with a bias for action
Confidence grows with each episode
Finding your voice on the mic and generally.
A forcing function to learn, grow, create, and connect with others
A centering mechanism. Through highs and lows, a podcast is centering and stable platform to “center” before moving forward again
Constraints create creativity
“The best conversations are the ones after the podcast”
Improves your writing skills.
